Unique Design:
A lot of time, research and studying went into the design of our Sparrow-resistant Bluebird House.
According to research at the University of Kentucky, bluebirds prefer a slot entrance to the standard circular hole while sparrows prefer the opposite and should avoid this unique slot opening.
In addition, sparrows don't like a shallow box and bluebirds don't seem to mind.
This box is only 5" deep but if sparrows still continue to be a problem, a wooden insert is included to reduce the depth even more. Sparrows rarely use the 3-1/2" depth, but bluebirds will still occupy it.
Measures 10" high by 6-1/4" wide by 8-1/2" deep.
Overhanging roof protects entrance slot from the elements and the slope of the roof prevents water from pooling on the top.
Designed with proper ventilation and drainage.
Hand crafted in the USA of Eastern White Pine, a wood with excellent insulation qualities and long lasting durability.

Mounting Suggestion:
Includes a hanger bracket on the back panel or it may be mounted over a 4x4 post with our Post Mount, offered and pictured below.
Habitat: Enjoys open woodlands, fields and farmlands with scattered trees.
Range: Breeds east of the Rockies from southeastern Canada to Gulf of Mexico. Winters in southern part of breeding range and Mexico.
