This unique Purple Martin House is designed for a bird which, while it lives in colonies, is quite territorial.
Therefore, each "apartment" is separated from the rest. (In other designs with several holes in a row, martins will occupy only every other room, unless it is overly crowded.)
The separation of the apartments on our house helps ensure the survival of the young, and the wooden floors give them a secure footing.
Center core of house slips over a 2" pipe or telescoping pole.
As with all our nest boxes, the design includes appropriate ventilation, drainage and opens for easy clean-out.
Measures 17" high by 16-1/2" wide by 16-1/2" deep. Entrance hole diameter is 2 inches.
Hand crafted in the USA by Coveside, of Eastern White Pine which provides excellent insulation and durability.
The wood will naturally age to a darker shade and blend in more naturally with the environment.
Shipped from the workshop in Maine and delivered to you within one to five business days.
