Bird Food
Sunflower seeds are a favorite. The Black-Oil sunflower seed has a shell that is easy to crack. The striped sunflower seeds have a harder shell which is enjoyed by house sparrows and blackbirds.
Safflower will attract cardinals, grosbeaks, chickadees, doves, and native sparrows.
Peanuts are a good choice for jays, crows, chickadees, titmice, and woodpeckers. Peanuts will spoil so keep the supply fresh and dry.
