Nuthatches are secondary cavity dwellers and seek out a nesting location that has already been established naturally or by another bird.
To avoid intruding house sparrows, install house in a mature forest away from buildings.
Design:
This birdhouse is specifically designed for Red-breasted & White-breasted Nuthatches.
Thick pine wood insulates birdhouse interior. Slot at top of house ventilates interior. Sloped roof allows rain water to run off. Overhanging roof helps to protect portal from precipitation.
House is capable of being mounted over a 4x4 post (offered and pictured below).
If you like, we will install a wooden predator guard which will increase the depth of the opening making it harder for predators to reach inside (see below).
Measures 12-1/2" high by 6-1/4" wide by 8-1/2" deep.
Hand crafted in the USA using eastern white pine, a wood which will darken over time and blend in more with the environment.

Camera and Extension Cord:
Enjoy viewing the activities in the Nuthatch House by adding a Video Camera which attaches to your PC or television. Camera includes a 100' cord and depending on the distance from your monitor to the Nuthatch House, you may want to purchase the 100' Extension Cord.
