How do I make nectar for my hummingbird feeder?
To eliminate bacteria, bring one cup of water to a boil. Allow the water to cool before adding 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Mix and fill feeder.
Hang the feeder away from direct sunlight to prevent overheating the nectar.
Store leftover nectar in the refrigerator for up to five days. Note: do not use red food coloring. Clear nectar works just fine.
