A duck of many names is also known as the Mexican Duck or the Tree Duck.
The Black Bellied Whistling Ducks arrive in May after hunting season is over and leave in September before it starts again. The timing is opposite of the Wood Duck nesting season, allowing this duck house to be used by Whistlers and Wood Ducks throughout the year.
Design:
A lower side guard protects the nest when the side is open for observation.
Includes wood chips as required for nesting material, which should be renewed each nesting cycle. Extra chips may be ordered at checkout or anytime from our Accessories page.
As with all our nest boxes, the design includes appropriate ventilation, drainage and opens for easy clean-out.
Mount on a tree or post over or near water. House is built with an internal wire ladder to help the ducklings climb out.
